If your washing machine displays “not working” message on the screen, initially you have to check few things like power connections, and check the lid switch too.

Troubleshooting Techniques

For “No power” problem, you have to check the power cable of the washing machine, and then check for the blown fuse and tripped circuit breaker.

For “lid switch” problem, if the lid switch has gone bad, you have to replace it. You will find the Lid switch in the control panel.

Spinning and Draining Problems

If your washer doesn’t pump or spin properly, though the motor runs, probably has a stationary pump pulley. Therefore, it is essential to replace the pump. In order to check the pulley, detach the pump from washer and manually rotate the pulley. If it doesn’t rotate freely, go for replacing the stationary pump pulley.

You can also get the problems like washer is spinning but it doesn’t pump, or “washer pumps but return water problems”.
